Even more impressive, the 2009 Barbera d’Asti Superiore Nizza is flat-out sumptuous. All the best qualities of this great Barbera vintage come together in the glass. There is absolutely nothing missing. Vibrant veins of minerality support the succulent fruit through to the deeply expressive finish. Although striking today, I confess I would be tempted to cellar a few bottles of this beauty just to see what might develop. Olim Bauda’s Superiore is totally impeccable.
